hi reader, this is angelos aka Pat MaGroin

if i were an animal I'd like to be either a pup, an octopus or a fox

my artistic practice indulges in the embrace of a fluid attitude whereby the only label that I feel truly comfortable in is that of the 'mover' or 'dancer'. although not formally trained in dance or any other art form I have independently pursued creating work that temporarily displaces the spectator, that queerifies space/time and challenges normative ways of being through mythologising the now. at the core of that work is having fun. deriving pleasure from the very process of creating rather than the final product. in that sense i reject virtuoso welcoming imperfection, glitches and a DIY aesthetic as a way of grounding myself and relating to the world around me, welcoming the ups and downs of figuring out what it means to create as a vulnerable human that has both been enabled and compromised by context.


My artistic practice engages with the materiality of identity, archiving, the subconscious and collectivity. I am interested in manifesting through both text and visuals to manifest alternative planes of existence that embrace fluidity, play and pleasure.
